Fountain Mutual Irrigation Company’s Board of Directors is made up of five (5) elective Shareholders who oversee the activities of the company. The Board’s functions and activities are determined by the powers, duties, and the responsibilities delegated to them by FMIC Shareholders and FMIC's By-Laws. The Board acts on behalf of the Shareholders to uphold the By-Laws and carry out the duties of their directorship, which include: Governing the organization by establishing policies, rules, and objectives; adhering to all water laws and rules governing water and the transportation thereof; abiding by all State rules and regulations; selecting, appointing, supporting and reviewing the performance of the appointed FMIC Manager; providing outside resources for special projects and/or consultation; ensuring the availability of adequate financial resources; approving annual budgets; accounting to Shareholders for the organization's performance; and, setting of employee salaries and compensation. Once Board members are elected by a majority rule from the FMIC Shareholders, each Board member will fulfill a function on the Board as nominated by the Board members (i.e., President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Assistant Treasurer/Secretary). Each elected Board member will serve a consecutive two (2) year term. At the end of their two year term, they can be re-nominated and re-elected to hold office for additional terms as written in the By-Laws.

Mark is a Widefield native of Colorado. He is the President and Owner of Widefield Water, Widefield Homes, and Widefield Water & Sanitation District. Mark has been a Shareholder with FMIC since 1994 as an Augmentor and brings a vast array of knowledge to the Board as a Business Entrepreneur and Water Provider.

Jim is currently the General Manager for the Triview Metropolitan District where he oversees the Administration Department, Park and Open Space Department, and Street Department along with the District’s Utility Department, consisting of Water, Wastewater, and Storm Water Services. Jim is a water resource expert who brings a broad variety of experience to the Board

Mike has been a shareholder with FMIC since 1999 as an irrigator and brings a wealth of information and experience to the Board. Carl Christian is a Fountain Resident and Assistant Director of Utilities for the City of Fountain. Carl has been a Shareholder with FMIC since 2017 as an irrigator and brings a wealth of utility and public administration experience to the Board. Much of Carl's experience was developed working in the field making certain that City of Fountain residents had reliable utility services. He is now responsible for utilizing City of Fountain water rights and he understands the importance of working collaboratively with FMIC.

Al is the President/Owner of Professional Consultants Incorporated, Engineers and Surveyors since 1990. Al provides both management and engineering support to public entities such as the Colorado Centre Metropolitan District, the Town of Mountain Village (Telluride), the Colorado Springs Airport and others. He holds advanced degrees in Civil/Structural Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from Iowa State University and has served on FMIC’s Board on behalf of Colorado Centre Metropolitan District for over twenty years.
